Davido Wins Best International Act at 2026 Liberian Entertainment Awards
He beat Tyla, Rema, Gunna and Fridayy for the honour at a Washington, D.C. ceremony

Davido has been named Best International Act at the 2026 Liberian Entertainment Awards, beating a competitive field that included South African Grammy winner Tyla, Nigerian star Rema, and American acts Gunna and Fridayy, according to a report by Legit.ng.
The ceremony was held on April 25, 2026, at the Lisner Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Winners across the awards' music, film and sports categories were chosen through a mix of public voting and panel review that weighed each nominee's impact on Liberian and international culture.
The win comes a few months after Davido narrowly missed out on a Grammy, losing the Best African Music Performance category to Tyla for his song “With You,” featuring Omah Lay. He still made an appearance at the Recording Academy's Grammy House event in February, a sign of his continued standing on the global stage despite the loss.
Afrobeats has become one of Nigeria's most valuable cultural exports over the past decade, with artists such as Davido, Burna Boy and Wizkid regularly headlining stages and picking up honours across Africa, Europe and North America.
