On examination malpractice, Wushishi disclosed that 1,406 candidates were involved in various forms of malpractice during the 2026 examination, compared with 3,878 candidates recorded in 2025.

He also disclosed that 1,334 candidates with special needs participated in the examination, with NECO maintaining that measures were put in place to promote inclusiveness in the conduct of the examination.
The 2026 SSCE Internal examination was conducted across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as in six countries: Benin Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Niger Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo and Saudi Arabia.
Wushishi commended NECO staff and other stakeholders involved in the conduct, monitoring, marking and release of the examination results.
He also expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and other institutions for their support, while reaffirming the council's commitment to maintaining the credibility and integrity of its examinations.
