Wike, Soludo, Adeleke Named in APC’s Revised 2027 Campaign Council
The three politicians have been assigned campaign coordination roles in Rivers and the FCT, Anambra and Osun, as the APC expands its preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has included Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo in its revised Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election.
The updated list, released on Tuesday, October 13, assigns the three politicians campaign coordination responsibilities in territories where they hold significant political influence, despite their affiliations with parties other than the APC.
Under the arrangement, Wike will coordinate the party’s presidential campaign in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory. Soludo will oversee campaign activities in Anambra State, while Adeleke will coordinate the campaign in Osun State.
Wike belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Soludo is a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and Adeleke won re-election as Osun governor in August 2026 under the Accord Party.
Their inclusion in the council does not, in itself, signify a formal change in party affiliation.
Tinubu to Lead Campaign Council
President Bola Tinubu is expected to chair the campaign council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda among the vice-chairmen.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has been named secretary of the council, while Senator Abdulaziz Yari will serve as Director-General.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq have been appointed deputy vice-chairmen I, II and III, respectively.
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has been named Deputy Director-General I for the North.
Former Governors, Party Leaders Included
The expanded council also features serving and former governors, ministers, lawmakers and other political figures.
Among those named as advisers are former APC national chairmen Adebisi Akande and Abdullahi Adamu, former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, former Osun State Governor Iyiola Omisore, Senator George Akume and Wale Edun.
Other appointments include Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola and Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo.
The revised structure also provides for mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, campaign finance, infrastructure and other operational responsibilities.
Inauguration Scheduled for Abuja
Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the expanded campaign council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
The council forms part of the APC’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with responsibilities covering campaign coordination, political mobilisation and engagement with stakeholders across the country.
The revised list brings together APC leaders and politicians affiliated with other parties as the ruling party prepares its campaign structure for the next general election.
