Messi And Ronaldo To Play Together For The First Time In Tevez's Testimonial Match

Legendary football icons Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are set to join forces on the same team for the very first time later this year.

Having been fierce rivals for years while starring at Barcelona and Real Madrid, the two superstars now play in different leagues—Messi with Inter Miami in the United States and Ronaldo with Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. However, fans may soon witness them sharing the pitch.

This unique opportunity arises as Carlos Tevez, a former teammate of both players, plans to invite them to his testimonial match scheduled for December.

“Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be there,” Tevez assured. “If needed, I’ll personally pick them up. I have both of them on WhatsApp.”

Although Tevez retired in 2021, he has yet to hold a testimonial match celebrating his illustrious career, which includes successful stints at Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, and Boca Juniors.

Thanks to Juan Roman Riquelme, Tevez’s wish will come true with the testimonial set to take place at Boca Juniors’ iconic La Bombonera Stadium, according to A Bola.

Messi and Ronaldo are expected to headline a star-studded guest list featuring Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Andrea Pirlo, and Gianluigi Buffon.

Messi, who recently retired from international football with Argentina on August 31st, played alongside Tevez for the national team between 2005 and 2015.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo and Tevez formed a formidable attacking trio with Rooney during Tevez’s two years at Manchester United from 2007 to 2009, winning consecutive Premier League titles, the Champions League, League Cup, and Club World Cup.
