Makinde Appoints New Chief of Staff, Names Adedayo Due Process Office Director-General
Akinwale Akinwole replaces Segun Ogunwuyi, who resigned on October 12, while Aderonke Adedayo takes on an additional role overseeing Oyo State’s Due Process Office.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff and named Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the state’s Due Process Office.
The appointments were announced on Monday, October 12, 2026, in letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde. Both appointments take immediate effect.
Akinwole replaces Segun Ogunwuyi, who resigned as Chief of Staff on Monday. Ogunwuyi confirmed in his resignation letter that his departure took effect from October 12, although he did not disclose a reason for leaving the position.
Akinwole Returns to State Government
Akinwole is a grassroots politician who previously served as chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.
His appointment places him at the centre of the governor’s administration, coordinating executive activities and supporting the implementation of government priorities.
Adedayo to Combine Two Roles
Adedayo, who currently serves as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, will retain that position while assuming additional responsibility as Director-General of the Due Process Office.
The office plays a role in overseeing due process requirements in public procurement and government contracting in Oyo State.
Governor Makinde congratulated both appointees and urged them to carry out their responsibilities with loyalty, commitment and dedication to public service.
The appointments come amid changes within the governor’s administration, following Ogunwuyi’s resignation and the departure of other aides in recent months.
