Augsburg’s Robin Fellhauer Scores Fastest Goal in Bundesliga History Against Bayern
Fellhauer scores after 8.3 seconds to break the Bundesliga record, but Bayern recover twice to earn a 2–2 draw against Augsburg.
FC Augsburg’s Robin Fellhauer has set a new record for the fastest goal in German Bundesliga history, scoring just 8.3 seconds into his side’s 2–2 draw against Bayern Munich on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The midfielder capitalised on a costly mistake by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer moments after kick-off to give Augsburg an immediate lead.
Bayern began the match by playing the ball back to Neuer, who attempted to chip it over the advancing Fellhauer. However, the ball struck the Augsburg player, allowing him to collect the rebound and run through to score into an unguarded net.
The strike broke the previous Bundesliga record of nine seconds, jointly held by Kevin Volland, who scored for Hoffenheim against Bayern Munich in 2015, and Karim Bellarabi, who scored for Bayer Leverkusen against Borussia Dortmund in 2014.
Fellhauer’s goal gave Augsburg a remarkable start against the German champions and made history before many spectators had settled into the match.
Bayern Fight Back to Secure Draw
Despite falling behind almost immediately, Bayern responded with sustained pressure and eventually equalised in the 55th minute through Ismael Saibari, who finished after an assist from Harry Kane.
Augsburg regained the lead in the 64th minute when Rodrigo Ribeiro capitalised on another opportunity following a save by Neuer to make it 2–1.
Bayern continued to press for another equaliser and were rewarded in the 80th minute when substitute Nathaniel Brown converted a pass from Kane to level the score at 2–2.
The visitors continued searching for a winner, but Augsburg held on to secure a draw.
The result denied Bayern all three points despite their comeback, while Fellhauer’s historic strike became the defining moment of the match.
His goal also ended the long-standing nine-second record and added his name to the Bundesliga’s record books.
